Honduras’ Bay Islands cover a total surface of 250 km2 with an estimated population of 70,000 people. During our last visit to Central America Tropicars visited its main islands Roatan and Utila and discovered a few must see and do’s!
Roatan
-Play a round of golf at Pristine Bay’s Black Pearl course.
-Stay at Pineapple Suites which shows Sunday NFL games at its exquisite Herby’s Sports Bar and Grill.
-Up for an adventure? Visit Little French Key and its rescued jaguar, parrots, monkeys and even a lion!
-Head to West Bay for snorkeling on the world’s second biggest coral reef. Tip: Infinity Bay Beach Resort features direct access to the beach and food/drink service.
– For a delicious seafood dinner you may visit Foster’s or Gio’s Restaurant
Utila
-Getting there: Take 2 ferries (Galaxy Wave and Utila Princess) if you are leaving from Roatan. Galaxy offers daily Utila-La Ceiba transport, as Utila Princess travels from La Ceiba-Utila)
-For the best way to get around the island, Stop by Bodden Rentals for your Golf cart, scooters or quad needs. Tip: You can cover the whole island in less than an hour.

– Looking for the Castaway experience? Just a 30 minute water taxi ride from the town’s center, lies Water Cay which is a deserted island with great snorkeling and is home to the famous Sun Jam 2 day music festival.
