The CAN plug is communication port under the drink holder. It’s used to plug in the Handheld Diagnostic unit to trouble shoot the car. Over time dirt can get into the connections and cause intermittent problems or the car may just not run.

Use DeoxIT to clean the connections:

1. Apply DeoxIT to each terminal.
2. Plug and Unplug the connector 10 times to clean the connection.
3. Use compressed air if possible to dry connection before use. As a good practice, the CAN plug should also be inspected for any other concerns. Look for signs of arcing, wear, poor connections, etc on the male and female connectors.
